US Sanctions Not Intimidating North Korea

For the last few weeks, North Korea and The United States have being exchanging threats and counter threats. North Korea has threatened to launch missiles targeting the United States. Countries, such as China, have warned North Korea to not proceed with such a heinous act and have stated categorically that they would not support the country if it launches the missile first.

As a result of these threats, U.S newly elected president, Donald Trump has vowed to take serious actions against North Korea as the country now poses serious threat to not only the United States but the entire world. This comes after North Korea launched four ballistic missiles into the Sea of Japan in March. Trump is on record as saying that he will not hesitate to use military action if North Korea goes ahead and launches a missile towards United States.

North Korea has mentioned that they do not fear or feel intimidating by any new U.S sanctions. Trump is said to have put in place measures to diffuse North Korea missile and nuclear threats. Chloe Myong-nam, the North Korean’s deputy ambassador to the UN in Geneva said that even restriction of international transactions or the global financial system does not make any difference or frighten North Korea.

North Korea has repeatedly said that the missile tests are as a result of plans by the U.S, Japan, and South Korea to invade their country. However, Myong-nam refused to reveal any technical details of the recent rocket tests. He also said that the country’s inter-continental ballistic rockets will be launched very soon and at any place that the Supreme Leadership of North Korea decides.

In response to the United States claims of launching pre-emptive strikes aimed at North Korea, Chloe Myong-nam said that they have put in strategic counter-attacks in place to deter such attempts.
