The millionaire mogul, Donald Trump, is taking over polls and appears to be stronger than ever. His controversial message and attitude has created the unprecedented situation of supporters of the Republican Party gathering secretly to find out how to prevent him from being their representative in the upcoming elections. He might have raised some eyebrows when he presented his position regarding torture.
According to Trump, we should level our game to the one our enemies are using. He says that waterboarding and other harsh interrogation techniques will be supported. His argument for supporting this is that by not applying them we are at a disadvantage with our enemies.
In an interview with CBS’s “Face the Nation”, Trump said, "We have to play the game the way they're playing the game."
"I would like to strengthen the laws," he added, "so that we can better compete." US militants are still fighting overseas against ISIS and is affiliates, if any. Trump has repeatedly said that if the enemy can use torturing techniques to get information, we should keep up with such techniques. Trump did not specify what kind of torture techniques (besides waterboarding) he would suggest to be introduced. "It's very hard to be successful in beating someone when your rules are very soft and their rules are unlimited, they have unlimited, they can do whatever they want to do," he said in an interview in Florida last week.
Trump has always held the position that if they are going to be crude, we should do the same and not play it soft. "We have to play the game the way they're playing the game. You're not going to win if we're soft and they're — they have no rules," he said.
